My Backstory

Thank you for taking time to visit my website and learn a little more about me. I am a custom cabinet maker, furniture maker, and woodworker. I design, build and install cabinetry, furniture and woodwork that cannot be purchased in a store. I pride myself on design that is simple and innovative, yet functional for the intended purpose. I deeply enjoy the collaborative relationship that develops between me - the maker, and you - the end user. The input I receive from you and the subtle details I add as the maker result in a unique and special creation.

I began woodworking in high school. The classes offered were just enough to pique my interest, but not enough to hone my skills. After graduating from high school I set out to become college educated. To help fund this endeavor, I began a modern day apprenticeship; I worked for several different contractors, cabinet makers and furniture makers. During this self-directed apprenticeship, I learned that woodworking is both rewarding and challenging. After graduating from San Diego State University with a degree in marketing, I had two goals; first, to be self employed, and second, to learn as much about woodworking as possible. To quench my thirst for woodworking knowledge, I enrolled in Palomar College’s woodworking program, where I learned fine woodworking skills. I studied cabinet making, fine furniture construction, veneering, wood finishing, and chair making, just to name a few. I learned to pay attention to detail and enjoy the wonderful process that is woodworking. With the base of knowledge gained from my time at Palomar, I have since taught myself a host of other skills that get used in my shop daily. With that said, the learning never stops - I am a student for life, striving to learn something new with each project.

Today I live and work in the southeast corner of beautiful Denver, Colorado. My daily commute is about 75 feet from my front door to my shop. I have a couple of western facing windows that provide views of the front range and stunning sunsets. It’s an inspirational place to work.

When I’m not making sawdust in my shop, you’ll find me exploring our local mountains and deserts on my motorcycle, traveling with my beautiful wife, or taking it easy with my family.
